Coldplay competed among Adele with 21, Florence and the Machine with Ceremonials, Ed Sheeran with + and PJ Harvey with Let England Shake for the Best British Album. Finally, the band triumphed for winning as the Best British Group while the Best British Album was awarded to Adele with 21. After the 2012 Brit Awards, Coldplay lead vocalist, Chris Martin admitted that the band did not expect to win and, he even announced that Coldplay had won just because there was no any other competition at all. Having triumph over Arctic Monkeys, Elbow and Chase, Status and Kasabian for Best British Group, Chris Martin have told Daily Mirror that most of the British bands such as Pulp, Take that and Blur have split up; having Coldplay left on the pitch. Coldplay’s lead vocalist also joked around in one of his interviews after the 2012 Brit Awards that the band is venturing into the business of fragrance, restaurants and theme parks. The success of Coldplay in Brit Awards 2012 has greatly shown and proved that Coldplay is certainly one of UK’s spectacular and amazing bands.
