Songs are subject to different interpretations to different people. The same goes with the new Coldplay song Paradise. However, we are open to exploring insights and perspectives towards the song. Upon pondering on the meaning of the song, one might think of one’s own definition of the word ‘paradise’, and how one dreams of going to that place or attain a certain feeling. With this, the lyrics try to convey how sometimes certain events and experiences in our lives get heavy and aren’t like what we expected them to be when we were younger. Despite this, we dream of something better, and we are hopeful that things will change in a positive way which is evident in the line “I know the sun must set to rise”.
